The electricity production and distribution corporation, Energy of Cameroon commonly known as ENEO, has shared tips to its customers on how to economise electricity consumption.
The information is shared as part of the corporation’s “I SHARE” campaign at the just ended international trade exhibition, Promote, which took place at the Yaounde Conference Center.
According to ENEO experts, electrical appliances bearing A+++ consume less electricity. The company technicians also recommend that citizens should choose LED appliances when purchasing television sets and lighting bulbs. Going by them, it is easy to evaluate the decline on individual electricity bills two years after the usage of these electrical appliance.
Customers who visit the ENEO stand are equally advised that placing an aluminium paper underneath a foam while pressing clothes with an electrical iron, would also reduce the amount of electricity consumed in the process.
They also advise people to clean off dust on electrical appliances on a regular basis, noting that dust have effects on electricity consumption. It is also advisable to turn the lights off whenever leaving a room. ENEO technicians also caution citizens against charging mobile phone all through the night. They say even when the battery is 100% full, it continues to absorb electrical energy.
Local and international companies are currently taking part in the international trade fair, with Italy having one of the highest number of companies taking part. The one week exhibition which opened on February 11, rounded off on Sunday February 19.
