The Republic of Mauritius today invited captains of industries to explore business opportunities there.
In an interaction with the members of local chapter of CII and Young Indians, Vice-President of Mauritius Paramasivum Pillay Vyapoory urged stakeholders in the construction industry, Information and Communication Technology, film development and also manufacturing sector to visit and explore business opportunities in Mauritius.
He invited an industrial delegation to visit Mauritius to understand the requirements and start new venture or joint ones with industry there.
It would be very safe investment as compared to South Africa, he said, adding that the island nation was ranked on top in Africa for ease of doing business.
Though there was huge potential for investment, compared to India labour cost is high, Vyapoori said.
“It is a small market. We are into production and export of
sugar to the United Kingdom and make apparel for the US market. We import garments and re-export as apparel, source rice and clove from India,” he pointed out.
