The Ready Made Garments Export Council (RMGEC) on Sunday signed a cooperation protocol with the Egyptian Customs Authority's exporters and producers unit to help garment exports get access to foreign markets.
RMGEC Chairperson Mary Lewis said the protocol comes as part of the political leadership's directives to double Egyptian exports to reach USD 100 billion annually, especially as they represent one of the national economy's tributaries and a main source of hard currency.
Lewis lauded the efforts exerted by the Customs Authority's exporters unit to facilitate the entry of garment exports and immediately resolve any problems that might face exporters.
On his part, Chairman of the Egyptian Customs Authority El-Shahhat Ghattori said the protocol aims to ease the flow of Egyptian garment exports to foreign markets, in addition to easing customs clearance's procedures.
