The donation was made last March 17 by the North West development authority, Mideno. A gift which will help in enhancing productivity.
One of the main economic activity in Cameroon is agriculture. More than 50% of the local population are involved in this activity. But with climatic change and other weather problems, the agricultural activity is not at its best. As consequence, productivity tends to diminished.
To tackle this issue and assist farmers, the North-West Development Authority, MIDENO granted tons of maize seeds to local farmers. Added to it, were some agricultural chemicals.
It was in all 12 tons distributed to some 200 beneficiary. An event which saw the presence of Cletus Anye Matoya, General Manager of Mideno and Adolphe Lélé l’Afrique, North-West Governor.
He used the opportunity to explain that these improved seeds constitute a critical factor in production and productivity.
Using the opportunity to launch the farming season, the Governor called on youths to join the agricultural sector which appears as a priority area in the government’s strategic development agenda.
