Egypt targets digital exports of $5.5B in 2022/23

Egypt aims to raise  its digital exports during the current fiscal year 2022/2023 to $5.5 billion, with an annual increase of 13 percent, according to Reuters.
 
The Assistant Minister of Communications for Development, Amr Mahfouz, said that Egypt's digital exports amounted to $4.9 billion in the last fiscal year 2021/2022, up from $4.5 billion in the prior fiscal year, and $3.6 billion in the fiscal year 2019/2020.

He added that Egypt targets specific markets, the most important of which are Germany, the United Kingdom, France and the United States, in addition to the markets of the Gulf region.
 
He said that Egypt is adopting a strategy that aims to triple the volume of its exports of cross-border information technology products and services, provide a new incentive package to attract investments, and enhance Egypt's competitiveness in the fields of research, development and value-added services.
