Libya-China: Harbour Company to conduct study of potential investments in Libyan infrastructure projects

Beijing-based China Harbour Company, a subsidiary of China Communications Construction Company, has been tasked to conduct studies of potential investments in infrastructure projects in Libya, under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Misurata Free Zone (MFZ).

The deal was signed on the sidelines of the North African International Conference and Exhibition for Ports and Free Zones in Misurata that kicked off on Saturday November 18, and closed Monday November 20.

Per the MoU, the Chinese company, one of the leaders in the field of implementing and operating ports and engineering works, will conduct a feasibility study for the development of sites A and B at Misurata Free Zone, as well as evaluate prospects for investment in major infrastructure projects in the region, ‘Libya Observer’ reports.

The Chinese state-run company will help MFZ become a strategic center to attract investments in Libya and North Africa because of its capabilities, good infrastructure, and the advantages it provides to investors. Beijing-based China Harbour Company operates in more than 100 countries and regions.
