Riva Industries, a Moroccan steel manufacturer, launched on Saturday an integrated industrial complex in Jorf Lasfar, backed by a substantial investment of approximately 2.9 billion dirhams ($290 million).
The state-of-the-art facility aims to produce a diverse range of metallurgical products to meet the demands of both domestic and international markets.
The new industrial complex, covering 75 hectares, is poised to manufacture products such as reinforcing steel bars, wire rods, large-diameter coils, steel ingots, and special steels.
The investment is expected to create 3,000 jobs, including 1,100 direct and stable positions.
The project is strategically designed to address the growing needs of the national market and expand into international markets, particularly in Europe and Africa. The emphasis will be on delivering high-quality, high-value-added steel products.
During a visit to the Riva Industries facility on Friday, the Moroccan Minister of Commerce and Industry, Ryad Mezzour, praised the project’s completion.
“This project will enhance national production capacity and diversify products with high local integration,” Mezzour stated.
He highlighted that the project aligns with royal directives aimed at strengthening Morocco's industrial sovereignty by reducing imports and boosting exports.
The complex also features auxiliary units equipped with advanced technologies for sorting and preparing ferrous waste, recycling water and smoke, converting electricity through clean stations, and producing essential gases and materials required for the complex’s operations.
In recognition of its commitment to quality, Riva Industries received a certificate of compliance with Moroccan standards for wire rods from the minister.
