Cameroon-Rice : Possible Reduction Of The Price

According to Cameroon’s Minister of Trade, Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana, this decision is of particular interest to the Cameroonian market as it should lead to better price control for consumers and even lower prices. The resumption of Indian rice exports will have a positive impact on Cameroon. It will help stabilise prices on the Cameroonian market, reducing price pressure and improving access to this staple food for the population.

This opportunity should also help to strengthen the national economy by creating commercial opportunities for Cameroonian operators. Cameroonian companies will be able to import Indian rice at competitive prices and resell it on the local market, generating income and creating jobs.

To take full advantage of this opportunity, Cameroon’s Minister of Trade has called on the heads of central and decentralised departments to take concrete action. Finally, the resumption of rice exports from India is an important opportunity for Cameroon that should help stabilise prices, strengthen the national economy and improve food security.
