The General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) has successfully secured 251 projects across its industrial zones and ports over the past 30 months, attracting a total investment of $6.23 billion and creating approximately 28,000 job opportunities, according to SCZone Chairman Walid Gamal El-Din.
During a meeting with Mohamed Zaki El Sewedy, Chairman of the Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI), and representatives from multiple industrial chambers, El-Din announced that the SCZone’s Board of Directors had approved four additional projects in January 2025, bringing in a further $1.84 billion in investments.
The discussions focused on expanding investment opportunities, fostering mutual cooperation, and addressing challenges faced by industrial companies with strong export potential.
The goal is to encourage these businesses to scale up their operations within the SCZone, leveraging its strategic location, infrastructure, and investor-friendly policies.
El-Din reaffirmed the SCZone’s pivotal role as a gateway to Egypt’s economic growth and industrial transformation.
He highlighted the Ain Sokhna Integrated Industrial Zone as a flagship model of industrial and logistical development, positioning Egypt as a competitive global manufacturing hub.
He also stressed that this collaboration between SCZone and the private sector is a significant step toward strengthening the Made in Egypt brand, promoting local industrial development and innovation to enhance Egypt’s position in international markets.
In response, El Sewedy praised the SCZone’s achievements, particularly its efforts in creating a dynamic investment environment with comprehensive services, incentives, and advanced infrastructure.
He emphasized that this meeting marks the beginning of an expanded partnership between the Federation of Egyptian Industries and the SCZone, setting the stage for greater industrial collaboration and future investment growth.
