The Egyptian Commercial Service Authority and the Omani Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at advancing investment promotion and export growth.
This agreement establishes a structured framework for bilateral cooperation, enabling the exchange of technical expertise, advisory support, and knowledge-sharing. It also lays the groundwork for collaboration in key sectors such as agriculture and food security, tourism, logistics and transportation, infrastructure development, industry, and information technology.
The signing ceremony took place in the presence of Egypt’s Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Hassan El-Khatib, and Oman’s Ambassador to Cairo, Abdullah Al-Rahbi. Minister El-Khatib underscored the deep-rooted and longstanding partnership between Egypt and Oman, emphasizing the MoU’s crucial role in expanding trade and fostering joint investments in the near future.
Ambassador Al-Rahbi echoed this sentiment, describing the agreement as a vital step toward strengthening economic cooperation. He highlighted the significant progress in bilateral economic relations, noting that trade between Egypt and Oman has doubled in recent years, reaching $1.3 billion.
Yahia El-Wathiq Billah, Head of the Egyptian Commercial Representation Authority, reaffirmed that the MoU aligns with broader efforts to enhance trade and investment ties between the two nations, creating new opportunities for economic collaboration and growth.
