The Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone), led by Chairman Walid Gamal El-Din, has signed an agreement with Yasser Ayoub, Chairman of Industrial House for Building Materials, to establish a new gypsum products factory in Wadi Al-Tecnology, east of Ismailia in Sinai.
This project, the second of its kind in the region, will feature three production lines dedicated to gypsum boards, plaster, and plastic packaging bags. With a total investment of $12 million, the facility will span 50,000 square meters and create 500 direct job opportunities, contributing to the broader development of the Wadi Al-Tecnology industrial area.
More than 80% of the factory’s output will be designated for export, leveraging the strategic connection between Wadi Al-Tecnology and East Port Said Port, which operates under SCZone’s jurisdiction.
This integration is expected to enhance logistical efficiency and strengthen Egypt’s position as a regional hub for building materials manufacturing. El-Din highlighted SCZone’s sustained efforts to attract investments across its industrial zones and affiliated ports over the past two and a half years.
These initiatives have successfully secured two major projects in the metallurgy and building materials sectors, amounting to a total investment of $17 million across 85,000 square meters. SCZone has also streamlined investment procedures through the implementation of a One-Stop-Shop system, which facilitates administrative, customs, and logistical services for investors.
Industrial House is actively contributing to Egypt’s infrastructure development and is currently involved in several national projects, including the Capital Monorail and various railway developments.
Through its new manufacturing facility, the company aims to further support the domestic market while strengthening Egypt’s position as a key exporter of high-quality building materials.
