Egypt’s Cabinet has approved the establishment of three new projects under the private free zone system as part of the government’s strategy to expand production capacity, enhance the competitiveness of Egyptian products in global markets, sustain economic growth, and create new job opportunities.
The first project, Alex Apparels Upper Egypt for Ready-Made Garments LLC, will be located in the industrial zone of New Beni Suef City on an area of 66,317.20 square meters. With an estimated investment of 20 million dollars, the factory aims to produce around 40 million garments annually, with 100 percent of output directed to export markets. The project will rely on 30 percent local components and create about 9,000 new jobs for Egyptians. It also includes training programs for youth, adoption of advanced production technologies, and environmentally friendly practices, benefiting from Egypt’s high-quality cotton and skilled labor.
The second project, Lead New Material LLC, will be set up in New Alamein City, Matrouh Governorate, over 468,510 square meters with an investment of 108.88 million dollars. The facility, owned by the global Kentier Group, will manufacture and assemble PVC flooring, panels, wardrobes, wooden doors and windows, decorative walls, and packaging materials. The project will create 2,150 direct jobs, including 2,000 for Egyptians, and will export 100 percent of its production. Operations are expected to begin in March 2026, with at least 30 percent local inputs from the start.
The third project, Alpen Egytex Textiles Co., will be established in 10th of Ramadan City, Sharqia Governorate, covering 200,202.23 square meters. With a total investment of 78.5 million dollars, the factory will focus on producing hosiery and ready-made garments, fully dedicated to export. It is set to employ about 4,000 workers within 10 years, including 3,900 Egyptians. Local input will start at 30 percent, with plans to reach 50 percent within five years. Construction and equipment installation are scheduled for completion within 18 months.
