According to the report, the Ethiopian Public-Private Partnership Office (PPP) announced three new roads and 14 power supply projects, costing $7 billion.
The three road projects announced are a 125km highway connecting Adama and Awash, a 72km highway connecting Awash-Mieso, and a160km highway connecting Mieso and Dire Dawa.
The projects will be launched this fiscal year after necessary tendering procedures are completed, according to Dr Teshome Tafese, director general of the office.
Ethiopia recorded one of the highest economic growth rates in Africa for thepast decade of so. The country has invested heavily in state-led infrastructure projects, including roads and railways connecting towns within the country as well as to neighboring countries. The country is also building Afric's largest dam, the Grand Ethipian Renaissance Dam (GERD), ove the nile river in Benishangul-Gumuz regional state.
